Amira Erfan has over 20 years of experience managing education, teacher training, and teaching young students and adults in diverse learning contexts in Egypt and in New York City. She has worked as the English language Program Director at Egypt STEM Schools Project (ESSP), USAID-funded project. Her role in the later project has successfully resulted in enhancing the teaching skills of hundreds of teachers in 14 STEM schools around Egypt as well as qualifying the STEM students to master English as a second language skills and develop strong independent learning skills. Her education management skills and experiences enabled her join City ZEWAIL CITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY as the Life Long Learning Training and Certification Manager. Her key roles were to provide an oversight and leadership for all Life Long Training Programming training, assessment, staffing, budget management and outreach for the Zewail City Outreach and Engagement Unit (ZCOEU). Amira is an international certified teacher trainer who is accredited by World Learning, USA. Accordingly, she has been a Professional Certificate in English Language Teaching (PCELT) Teachers Trainer. The training runs by AMIDEAST Cairo and is accredited from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, USA. Amira’s presentation experiences in International conferences in TESOL International, TESOL Arabia, IATEFL TEASIG & AMATE, and Nile TESOL qualified her to be elected as the chair of the professional development committee at Nile TESOL in 2013. Such opportunity enabled her to reach out and support more educators in Egypt.
Amira holds an USA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the renowned New York University with a GPA of 3.9.
